Psychosocial & Behavioral Risk Factors of Chronic Disease 

Laura Redwine, PhD is a Psychologist and researcher in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Redwine received her training in Psychoneuroimmunology and Medical Psychology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She did post-doctoral training at National Institutes of Mental Health, the Georgetown School of Medicine and University of California, San Diego. She currently serves as the Associate Director of the Center of Excellence in Research and Training in Integrative Health. Her research interests include determining brain, endocrine and immune pathways associated with stress, depression and chronic disease, as well as the effects of integrative interventions such as gratitude and tai chi on physiological, psychological, social and spiritual factors associated with prevention, early intervention and disease maintenance of chronic diseases. Laura’s work is supported through various funding agencies including NIH.
