Groer Competing in National US Tennis Association Mother/Son Tournament

Dr. Maureen Groer and her son Dr. Christopher Groer will compete in the National United States Tennis Association (USTA) mother/son tennis tournament at Sanibel the weekend of 9/23.

Chris was Vanderbilt’s number 1 player and then went on the tour in  1998 through 2001. He ranked in the top 300 in world rankings, and he still plays competitively. After tennis he went on to University of Georgia for his masters and then University of Maryland for his PhD in applied mathematics. Maureen said she was on a team that won the national 3.5 level Championship in 1981!
