Health library displays nursing exhibit

Nursing profession recently took center stage at USF Shimberg Health Sciences Library, Nov. 14 through Nov. 18.

The library showcased an archive of postcards and images of nursing and nurses from around the world.

The traveling exhibition called Pictures of Nursing: The Zwerdling Postcard Collection was presented by National Institutes of Health’s National Library Medicine (NLM).

The Shimberg Health Sciences Library also hosted an event for USF Nursing faculty, staff and students on Nov. 16 to celebrate the exhibit.

The exhibition showcased more than 2,500 postcards and over 100 years of images influenced by nursing’s cultural values, and popular ideas about social, cultural life and fashion.
