Interim Dean Honored for Achievement in Health Equity
USF College of Nursing Interim Dean Usha Menon, PhD, RN, FAAN, has earned the Health Equity Special Interest Group (SIG) Service Award from the Society of Behavioral Medicine (SBM). Throughout her career, a major emphasis of Dr. Menon’s research has been on increasing early detection among aging and vulnerable minority populations and the reduction of health disparities in cancer prevention using rigorous theory-based models of inquiry in implementation science.
The SBM, which is guided by the vision of “better health through behavior change,” is a vibrant, multidisciplinary society focused on the role of behavior in improving health. Members of the SBM include the nation’s leading scientists and practitioners.
