Kids Explore Simulation Lab on Take Your Child to Work Day

The USF College of Nursing opened its simulation laboratory doors on June 8 so kids could explore a career in nursing on USF’s Take Your Child to Work Day.

About 10 children participated in the “Discover the World of Nursing” workshop. The 45-minute hands-on class gave middle and high-schoolers a peek into a nursing profession. Participants tried out important nursing skills, such as taking vitals and checking blood pressure. The group visited different stations in the college’s simulation laboratory where they worked with simulated “dummy” patients.
