March of Dimes Awards Jevitt and Brumley Grant to Provide Group Prenatal Weight Optimization Workshop

Cecilia Jevitt, CNM, PhD, Associate Professor and Jessica Brumley, CNM, MA, nursing PhD Student, were awarded $3,000 from the March of Dimes, an organization working together for stronger healthier babies, to provide an 8 hour workshop on Group Prenatal Care for Prenatal Weight Optimization. The worskhop is an extension of Jevitt and Brumley’s Maternal Child Health (MCH) Leadership Academy project through Sigma Theta Tau International and Johnson & Johnson, where they are working to design group prenatal care focusing on optimal nutrition, caloric intake and physical activity in collaboration with an inter-professional team from the USF Medical Clinics.
