Morrison-Beedy Receives AWHONN Award of Excellence in Research

Dianne Morrison-Beedy, PhD, RN, WHNP-BC, FNAP, FAANP, FAAN, Senior Associate Vice President, USF Health and Dean, College of Nursing at the University of South Florida, received the 2010 Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Award of Excellence in Research.

This award celebrates nurses who make outstanding research contributions to women’s health, obstetric or neonatal nursing at local, state, national and international levels. AWHONN honored Dean Morrison-Beedy during the organization’s Annual Convention in Las Vegas, NV on September 26, 2010.

“Dr. Morrison-Beedy ‘s research is vital to reducing the epidemic of HIV/AIDS,” said AWHONN’s Chief Executive Officer, Karen Peddicord, RNC, PhD. “Her distinguished research not only improves the practice of nursing care, but the lives of millions of our nation’s most vulnerable young women.”
