Nesllali Herreria Fernandez Earns Recognition As Culture Champion

Nesllali Herreria Fernandez’s dream is to be a women’s health nurse practitioner, particularly serving communities of color and low-income neighborhoods. She is a senior in the Fall 2021 Upper Division Nursing Program. Currently, she serves as Vice President of the College of Nursing Student Council, a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Student Action Committee, and Diversity Equity and Inclusion Chair for my nursing cohort.

The USF College of Nursing Executive Team received the nomination for Nesllali to be awarded the culture coin based upon her exemplifying the values of USF Health and dedication to our mission of making lives betters through education and patient care.

Nesllali has exemplified our USF Health values of compassion and passion for making lives better, respect, and inclusion by treating others with dignity and empathy as well as participating in and leading organizations that serve the cause, excellence in her patient care and studies, and accountability to her peers and the patients she serves.

“I know USF College of Nursing can get me closer to achieving my dream because, through this program, I am helping the communities that need the support the most but get the least,” says Nesllali.
