Nursing Students Volunteer at Kidfest
University of South Florida College of Nursing students including officers and members of the USF Chapter of Florida Nursing Students’ Association (FNSA), the USF Bulls for Moffitt student group and students in NUR3535L, volunteered at the 2011 “I am Too Good for Drugs” Walk and Kidfest on October 1, 2011 at MOSI in Tampa, Fl.
Over 4,500 children and families participate in this free one day prevention event that included a banner contest, one-mile fun walk, and fun activities at Kidfest. Various exhibits of services and programs are shared with children and their families during the Kidfest Exhibit.
USF Nursing volunteers helped with various parts of the Kidfest event including the banner contest registration, judging area, banner contest display, banner contest information booth, exit monitor and clean up. Nursing volunteers also volunteered to serve as safety patrol, ushers and walk helpers.
