Students receive significant scholarship from American Legion Post

Five USF Nursing students recently received scholarships from the American Legion Auxiliary Post #275. The students, who are all veterans or current military service members, were awarded $2,000 towards tuition and books.

V-CARE students Paul Sotelo, Emily Hankins and Jorge Guzman (pictured above), and graduate students Nicholas Newbold and Laura Stone received the scholarship.

American Legion Auxiliary Post #275, which is one of the leading fundraising auxiliary posts in the country, is dedicated to helping veterans around the nation. The 50-year-old organization is one of the first donors to support all veterans’ initiatives at USF Nursing.
