USF College of Nursing alum, Wayne Lile, featured in Military Advanced Education Magazine

University of South Florida College of Nursing alum, Wayne Lile, BSN, was highlighted in the September Issue of the Military Advanced Education (MAE) Magazine for overcoming cancer as a soldier in the United States Army. Lile completed his bachelor’s degree in nursing at USF in August 2013.

“While serving on active duty as a combat engineer with the 40th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Division in Germany, I was diagnosed with leukemia,” said Lile in the MAE article. “Then, only at 24 years old, I knew I wanted to by a nurse in order to return the dedicated care that guided me through treatment.”

The Military Advanced Education magazine, published 10 times a year, provides editorial coverage for today’s military service members including sections on education, best practices, career and transition spotlights, school and program profiles, and more.
