USF College of Nursing faculty and staff take part in 2013 Gasparilla Distance Classic

Faculty and staff from University of South Florida College of Nursing were out in full force participating in the 2013 Gasparilla Distance Classic in South Tampa on Feb. 23.

The USF Nursing team, also called the “CON Artist Team”, finished their first organized 5K run, and all the participants were extremely happy with the results.

USF College of Nursing Assistant Professor and Concentration Director for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Concentration, Debra A. Friedrich, DNP, ARNP, FNP-C, CLS, FNLA, said the Nursing team did great, and is looking forward to planning similar events in the future.

“What a great day…Our team did it,” said Dr. Friedrich. “It was a very inspiring and team building experience and I would love to organize future events for us.”

The Gasparilla Health & Fitness Expo is an annual event, which includes some of the Tampa Bay area’s leading health and fitness professionals who help people make better health choices for healthier and fitter lifestyles.
