USF College of Nursing holds holiday toy drive
University of South Florida College of Nursing participated in the 2013 USF Employee Community Giving Tree to benefit foster children in the Tampa Bay area Dec. 4 through Dec. 11, 2013.
The Employee Community Giving Tree is an annual effort presented by USF’s Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement (CLCE) to help foster children in the Tampa Bay area community. CLCE placed several Angel holiday trees around campus, and two of them are placed in the College of Nursing.
The gift tags hung on the tree provide the child’s age, clothing and shoe size, and a wish list of games, unwrapped toys, electronics, and even gift cards to stores. This year students, faculty, and staff donated lots of toys, games, clothes, gift cards, and other items. On Dec. 11, CLCE collected all donated items and distributed them to foster children.
