USF Health to Hold Canvas Day Kickoff event

Have you heard of Canvas yet? If you haven’t, do not panic. University of South Florida Health will hold a Canvas Day kickoff event where students can learn about the new tool at the USF Health Courtyard between the College of Medicine and College of Nursing on Jan. 31 from 2:00p.m. to 6:00p.m.

Canvas is a new Learning Management System which will replace Backboard in summer 2013. “Canvas is a fun, new Learning Management System that USF is moving to, and we at the College of Nursing will be using it for all our courses in the summer semester,” said Oma B. Singh, PhD, Director of Educational Design & Technology at USF College of Nursing.

University of South Florida College of Nursing and USF Health will hold a Canvas Day kickoff event where students can discuss and ask questions about the new tool at the USF Health Courtyard between the College of Medicine and USF College of Nursing on Jan. 31 from 2:00p.m. to 6:00p.m.

During Canvas Day, USF Health Educational Design and Technology experts will be there to answer students’ questions about Canvas and show them what the system is all about. To add on the fun, students and their peers will have the chance to win a free t-shirt, listen to live music, and grab some free pizza.

 USF Health will also hold 2-hour Canvas training sessions for faculty, staff, and Course Support Personnel in the USF Health Lab, room # 2008.

 Those session will be held on the following dates and times:

  • Thursday February 7th – 1:00pm to 3:00pm
  • Tuesday February 19th – 10:00am to 12:00noon
  • Tuesday March 5th – 1:00pm to 3:00pm
  • Wednesday March 27th – 10:00am to 12:00noon
  • Tuesday April 9th – 12:30pm to 2:30pm
