USF College of Nursing’s Dr. Frances Sahebzamani Wins Top Award from AANP 2012 Call for Papers

University of South Florida College of Nursing Assistant Professor and Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) Program Director, Frances M. Sahebzamani, PhD, ARNP, FAANP is one of  three nurse practitioners chosen by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) Foundation to receive an award for highlighting best practices in the use of nutrition supplements. Her paper on Malabsorption Anemia, Iron Supplementation, Self-Management Strategies and Adherence in Post- Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass Patients has been chosen to receive the top honor for 2012.

AANP members conducting extraordinary work in Rx Drugs & Nutrition Depletion, Obesity and Malnutrition,  frequency of discussions between NPs and patients on the use of supplements submitted papers answering the 2012 Call for Papers by Nature Made. The awards are given to recognize the best of all the papers submitted for review. Top prize includes a $10,000 grant/scholarship with the other two award winners receiving $3,000 each.  The AANP Foundation will recognize the winners of the nutritional supplement Call for Papers at the second annual AANP Foundation Honors Dinner. The dinner will be held on June 21, 2012 at Sea World in Orlando, Florida in conjunction with the 27th Annual AANP National Conference.
