USF Health Simulation Consortium receives full accreditation

Encompassed in accreditation is USF Nursing simulation center.

The USF Health Simulation Consortium recently received accreditation renewal during the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare hosted by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH).

The consortium, which consists of five simulation labs across USF Health, including the George & Marian Miller Center for Virtual Learning, was fully accredited in all areas – core, assessment, research, teaching/education and system integration.

“We follow the best practices, said Dr. Teresa Gore, associate professor and director of experiential learning in the George & Marian Miller Center for Virtual Learning. “The accreditation takes our commitment to the next level.”

USF is one of three SSH accredited universities, however, it is the only university to have full accreditation in the state of Florida.

The simulation consortium received initial accreditation in 2011.
