USF Nursing staff member named advisor to Tampa Mayor

USF Nursing academic specialist, Kimberly Brown, is helping make Tampa a better city. Tampa Mayor, Bob Buckhorn, recently appointed Brown to the Mayor’s African-American Advisory Council (MAAC).

As part of this organization, Brown serves as a liaison between the Tampa Mayor and various governmental agencies, community groups, civic organizations and religious institutions. She helps grow working relationships between the African-American community and the Tampa Mayor’s office.

“Because of Brown’s concern and interest in the welfare of the community, I feel that her contributions and service will help the Advisory Council continue to attain its goals to make Tampa a better city,” said Mayor Bob Buckhorn in a statement.
