Did you know skin cancer is the most common of all cancers – accounting for nearly half of all cancers in the US?
That’s why our third year medical students, Michael Cameron and Jae Chung, visited faculty and staff on Feb 13th and 14th to share more information about skin cancer awareness and prevention.
38 faculty and staff were given information on skin cancer prevention, self skin monitoring and the ABCDEs of melanoma.
8 people were interested in a referral card to USF Dermatology for follow up.
IM Cares is a DoIM program created to improve the health and well being of its faculty and staff. Since it’s inception in January 2013, screenings for cholesterol, glucose levels, blood pressure, vision, BMI, and sleep apnea risk have been conducted.
