Office of Graduate Programs

The USF College of Pharmacy (COP) is pleased to announce the establishment of its Office of Graduate Programs. COP was established in 2010 to offer the  PharmD program. The vision for Research & Graduate education at COP included developing cutting-edge research in two areas: Nanomedicine and Pharmacogenomics, creating a diverse learning environment for students and faculty and creating advanced learning opportunities using the emerging technologies.  To this end, an Office of Graduate Programs (OGP) was established in 2013 and Dr. Shyam Mohapatra, PhD, MBA, a Distinguished USF Health Professor and Director of USF Nanomedicine Center was appointed Associate Dean of OGP at COP. Consistent with USF’s mission, the strategic goals of OGP include i) to enhance domestic and international recruitment, enrollment, and retention of graduate students that reflects diversity, ii) to strive to enhance the academic experience of and the quality of life for graduate students, iii) to pursue research funding and conduct and publish research that leads to opportunities for graduate student success, iv) to partner with the other USF Colleges and SUS institutions to develop creative initiatives that promote graduate student research, and vi) to serve as a leader in promoting interdisciplinary graduate programs. OGP plans to develop initiatives for graduate certificate, Master’s of Pharmacy and PhD programs in addition to dual degree programs at the COP. The Certificate program is planned to be offered in 2014.  The first degree program planned to be launched  is a Master’s degree in Pharmacy program, which is expected to commence in 2015.
